  • We try to leave as small a footprint on mother nature as possible.
  • Our rooms have cloth laundry bags, handmade cloth covered cardboard room folders, terracotta dispensers for hand wash and bathing soap & shampoo, toilet roll from recycled paper, handmade paper note pad and pencils from recycled newspapers.
  • We only use locally made and great looking hand block prints or khadi handloom cloth for furnishings.
  • To prevent plastic waste generation, we don’t offer or encourage bottled water. On each floor, we have RO filtered water machines that can offer filtered hot or cold water for your use. Drink, fill up your room bottles/flask, carry it with you when you go sightseeing. Water at Tara Niwas is safe and free, and so it should be!
  • Energy saving LED lights only are used in rooms and public areas.
  • Openable windows and cross ventilation means we can cut down on power used for Air conditioning.
  • We use only organic manure. We do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides.
  • We recycle organic kitchen waste into manure.
  • Newspapers are provided on request.
  • Glass bottles for rooms instead of plastic ones.
  • Rainwater harvesting.
  • We use solar energy to produce part of the electricity used by Tara Niwas. Panels are installed on our roof top.
  • We use super-efficient heat exchange systems that give hot water in some of our rooms, and in exchange they produce cold air – our answer to global warming!
  • Tara Niwas supports an organic farm and orchard at Amer near Jaipur that we will be happy to show you.
  • Though we are a small hotel we have 14 large trees all around the premises, thousands of potted plants and bonsai landscapes AND our Amer orchard has about 400 trees on it.

Hotel Policy

  • Pet Policy
    Pet Parents are welcome! We have one room designated as pet friendly room.
    Hotel needs to know if pets are coming with guest. Guests have to ensure pets don’t dirty the room, don’t disturb other guests and are kept on leash for all times they are out of the room in hotel premises, do carry pets’ bedding, food and waste bags.
    Tara Niwas has fishes, rabbits and a pet beagle. Your pet has to be kept such that the resident animals are not harassed please.
    Any damage to hotel property, rooms will be chargeable extra.
    Don’t leave your pets unattended in rooms, clean up if they make a mess and don’t allow pets onto hotel beds or furniture. Please carry utensils for pets, don’t use hotel crockery or utensils for them.
    Guests need to agree to these hotel terms regarding pets, to make sure other guests are
    not inconvenienced and hotel property is not damaged.  The hotel reserves the right to take appropriate action if these guidelines are not followed.
  • Our rooms are strictly non smoking
    Please don’t smoke in rooms. Rooms have smoke detectors that may go off when you smoke inside. If you must, please use the designated smoking areas either in front garden or on rooftop terrace to smoke.
  • Tara Niwas room rates are on room only basis. Breakfast or other meals are not included in room rates displayed online or shown at desk, and are payable extra. If requested, we will be happy to offer rates including breakfast or meal (s), as desired.
  • Rooms are generally available around 1 PM. We try to offer a room as soon as possible to guests, subject to availability.
  • Check out time is 12 noon. Guests can ask the reception if they will like to extend check out time by 1 hour. Depending on availability we will be happy to oblige.
  • Drinking alcohol in public areas is not allowed.
  • Rights of admission reserved. Hotel reserves the right to give or not give room to a guest even for confirmed bookings, depending on guest behavior and deportment.
  • We are a small family managed hotel. We request all guest to respect the privacy and comfort of fellow guests and follow hotel rules.
  • In case of bookings without advance, we will hold the room without advance till 2 PM only, unless time of arrival is specified.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayTm, GooglePay, UPI, cash for payments. We do not accept cheques.
  • Housekeeping and security of occupied rooms
    We still work on a two key system, where you as guest have one key and the other, for emergencies only, is at reception under lock. This ensures privacy and increases safety of your belongings.
    However, this also means, that UNLESS you leave the key with us at reception, we will not be able to clean your room! Do leave the key at reception, if you want the room to be cleaned. AND do keep your precious belongings in the room locker.
  • Hotel premises are under CCTV surveillance (public areas only).
  • Visitor Policy
    Dear guests, if you are expecting a visitor, please inform the name and arrival time of the expected persons at the reception. Photo ID cards of each visitor are required. No visitor is allowed in the room after 8 PM, and all such visitors must leave guest rooms by 8 PM. You are welcome to meet guests in public areas. More than 2 visitors will not be allowed in rooms.
  • Tipping Policy
    Please use our TIPS BOX to leave a tip. Kindly don’t tip staff members selectively.
  • EV Charge Facility at Tara Niwas
    We have Fast EV charge facility available. Please ask the reception.
  • Car Cleaning Facility
    If you will like your car to be cleaned, please ask the reception. We will be happy to clean the car (from outside only) if we have a staff member available.  
    We charge @ Rs. 50 for small and Rs. 75 for a big car. Please pay at the reception. We will give the ENTIRE amount to the cleaner. Please don’t tip the cleaner individually.
  • Cancellation Policy
    On certain busy dates, and for group or travel agency bookings, we do ask for advance. Complete advance is returned for individual guest bookings if we are informed 3 days in advance for individual room bookings and for group bookings (more than 2 rooms) if we are informed 10 days in advance. If cancellation information is sent afterwards, there is no refund.
  • Photo Identification is required for all adult guests as per Government of India guidelines
    Guests need to carry a photo ID card. Hotel needs to take a copy of this and keep in our records.
    For Foreign guests it is Passport with valid Visa
    For NRI and PIO – it is Passport and PIO card
    For Indian nationality guests it is AADHAR / Driving license / passport / Voter ID. PAN card is NOT a valid ID as it does not carry guest address
  • We don’t accept Local ID carrying guests, unless there is a prior intimation of reason to stay and acceptance by hotel.
